Are you already sick of this cold weather? Already longing for summer to come back around? Below are some of my favorite activities that will make for an unforgettable winter season.
Decorating Gingerbread Houses.
Every year, during the Christmas season, I spend a day with my family decorating the tree and making gingerbread houses. We purchase gingerbread house kits from our local grocery store and are sure to buy extra frosting and candy! After we are done decorating, we vote on the best one.
Go Sledding.
When it snows, I always make sure to get together with my friends and go to a nice spot to sled. We go to different places each year, varying from Yawgoo Valley in Exeter, Rhode Island to one of our own driveways.
Bake Cookies.
My favorite indoor activity for a cold day is baking cookies. You can bake chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, or, my favorite, sugar cookies. A good trick when making cookies is putting a Hershey’s Kiss in the center of each cookie after they have been baked and are still warm. This will make for a delicious addition to one of your favorite cookies.
Visit The Ice Castles.
Although I have never been to the Ice Castles in Lincoln, NH myself, I have heard amazing stories about them from my friends and family. The viewing of these beautiful castles and other activities makes for a great trip this winter. I know it is definitely on my bucket list for this winter season.
Go Ice Skating.
I have to go ice skating with my friends at least once, during the winter season. You can go to Public Ice at your local rink, and either rent or bring your own ice skates. This activity will make for an enjoyable winter day as long as you dress warmly!
