Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Have you and your significant other been struggling to make plans for this upcoming holiday? Sometimes it’s difficult to think ahead and come up with something. Maybe that stems from disagreement and creativity, but most likely, it’s because you just need a little extra help finding new ideas! But seriously, don’t stress anymore, I have the perfect list for you.

  1. Go out to dinner

Okay, now I know I mentioned that I was going to help come up with new ideas, but you cannot go wrong with a dinner date. Think of their favorite place to eat, and favorite kind of food, or maybe even recreate your first dinner date. There is so much you can do! No matter where you end up, a family favorite, or an expensive occasional location, it’ll be a time for you to spend quality time together and enjoy a delicious meal.

  1. Go stargazing

I know one of my favorite things is to relax and just look at the sky. At night, the stars that light up the dark horizon are perfect for feeling calm and comfortable whilst admiring the beauty of the view. Having this experience with someone is perfect and can honestly be done at any time of the year, though August is the best if you want to see shooting stars. You can either find a place to sit outside away from busy streets and lights or just park your car in a parking lot and look out the windows. No matter where you choose, I promise you will have such a good time and always remember it.

  1. Have a stay-in movie night

A movie night is a great way to spend your time together. Set up a living room or bedroom with plenty of pillows, candles, fresh popcorn, each other's favorite candies and drinks, and blankets galore! Pick your favorite movie to watch and get comfortable! If you can’t choose a movie between the two of you, there are a couple of options: (1) Play rock, paper, scissors - best of three. (2) watch both movies (3) put all the movies you both want to watch on one of those spinning wheels online and whatever it lands on, you watch!

  1. Build a Lego flower bouquet

Personally, Legos are one of my favorite things to build. If someone buys me a Lego set, you best believe I am finishing it that same day, in one sitting. It’s a fun activity that you can spend a lot of time on together. Building Legos can sometimes take a lot of carefulness and the following of directions. It is a great way to work together and have something that you were able to make with each other.

  1. Go to the Aquarium

Personally, aquariums are one of my favorite things to explore. For those near it, Mystic is a great aquarium that also has a shopping center across the street. For those who are not near it but can drive, a little road trip would be fun and totally worth it. Not only are aquariums a cool place to be, but they can also teach you about marine life. Learning new things together is always a great way to bond! Plus, you can take some awesome photos at aquariums! A lot of them have different things that the public can be involved in like petting pools which, if you haven’t before, can be a fun new experience to do together!

  1. Picnic at the park

A picnic, the classic date. Grab a blanket, pillows, a basket (if you want to kick it old school), snacks, drinks, and extra jackets if it is cold! Make a meal together or just get some takeout food from your favorite place to eat together and bring it down to your local park. Set it up nice and pretty and relax with nature together. It is a calm but romantic date and a great way to focus on the world around you. It’s also a good way to appreciate each other’s company, even if you are just sitting there eating quietly.

  1. At Home Spa night!

A nice night in together doing face, eye, and lip masks is the perfect way to bond. It is a great way to care for each other and yourself! Light some candles and play your favorite songs while you do nail care! To make it even more special, wear matching pajamas and keep your phones somewhere else to just be in the moment together. It will help you feel refreshed and relaxed. The pampering that goes along with a spa night can help connect you with your soulmate even more. It is an awesome way to relax your mind and build ease within your relationship.
